Paste Up Pals: Series One

Street art electrifies the senses in an explosion of colour and creativity! The movement, a vibrant metamorphosis of ever-shifting artistry that flips the bleak mundanity of modern architecture on its head. Breathing life into the inanimate and breaking down the social tethers strangling the art world, street art is the grimy paint-riddled lifeblood pounding through the currency clogged heart of creativity.

Buried beneath a thick coat of spray paint residue, gloopy adhesive, scrape riddled stickers and decaying wheat pastes, a mid-city electricity box sparks into action. Deep within the ever-whirring confines of the metallic husk, fragmented remnants of  untethered creativity silently meld with the dust layered, rusting machinery. From the dirt strewn debris, an animate amalgamation of aerosol, adhesive and aluminium claws its way into existence. The seamless embodiment of creativity and decay, born of the elicit act of vandalism, the creature a twisted construct of urban life. Dubbing itself ‘Paste Up Pal’, this bizarre being scuttles the streets in persistent pursuit of artistic expression, wallowing in unlit alleyways and street corners, acting as a canvas for the elusive unsuspecting vandal.

‘Paste Up Pals’ are customisable designer paper craft toys. Inspired by the free flowing creativity of street art, they pay homage to urban muralists and adhesive artists specialising in the sub-genre of sticker bombing. Created by the urban artist ‘ShallowLagoon’, these printable, easy to assemble designer toys are a canvas for street artists to express their unique styles in a hyper collectable open source format through custom figures.
